It’s My Birthday — Privacy Policy

It’s My Birthday helps you find birthday freebies, track the birthdays you care about, and plan a birthday run of nearby deals. This policy explains what information the app handles and why.
Information we collect
- Account details. If you create an account: your email address, display name, and the birthday you save. Browsing as a guest requires no account details.
- Birthdays you add. Names and dates you save for friends, family, kids, and pets, so the app can remind you.
- Approximate location. Used only while you look for nearby deals or build a birthday run. Location is sent to our API gateway to query nearby places and is not stored on our servers.
- Taste picks. Food and interest preferences you choose are stored on your device to sort your deal feed.
- Feedback. Anything you send through the in-app contact form, so we can respond and fix problems.
Services we rely on
- Firebase (Google) — sign-in and data storage.
- Google Maps — maps and place lookups.
- Google AdMob — ads; ad personalization follows your device settings.
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics that show us which features get used.
- Cloudflare — hosts this page and shared run links.
What we don't do
We never sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers above, and only to run the app.
Shared run links
If you share a birthday run, the public teaser page shows your first name (and, for a gift run, the recipient's first name), every stop on the run — merchant names, full street addresses, estimated values, and whether each stop has been visited — the stop count and total estimated value, and a map image of the route. Anyone with the link can see it. Shared links expire automatically after 30 days.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account from inside the app, which removes your profile and saved birthdays. Preferences stored on your device are removed when you uninstall the app. See delete your account for the exact steps, what deletion removes, and what to do if you can no longer sign in.
Children
It’s My Birthday is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
